Bootlegs Part 9
That’s some amazing fan art from Jason Breeden, artist and author of fellow webcomic Destiny Helix. WOW, Valkyrie has never looked better! He captured how she looks in my head, all alluring and muscular. I’m sure you’ll all agree that it’s a real treat to see her in non-brick, “human” form. 🙂 And I think her new catchphrase has been immortalized. Please check out Jason’s comic for more fantastic art (including many illustrations that just might make you pine away for luscious comic book women) and excellent sci-fi adventure!
– This is not an official LEGO comic. This is a tribute. This also has nothing to do with Best-Lock.

Erm… Am I right if I think the doppelgangers’ ships are not Lego, but Best-Lock? I seem to recall the 2nd ship from their webpage.
Also, if the title of the episode refers to these ships, Best-Lock is a clone brand, not a bootleg! Bootlegs are exact copies of Lego sets, like Zaphyr Knight’s and other Chinese manufacturer’s sets.
You’re absolutely right in that Best-Lock sets are not technically bootlegs of LEGO product. The title of the story is less about accuracy and more about razzing companies like Best-Lock because I found it amusing to do so. It also has another meaning that hasn’t really been revealed yet.
Okay, I understand now. 🙂 I’m waiting for the second meaning to come, although I have an idea what it’ll be.
Thanks for the quick answer!
Thanks for the feature and the inflated ego! LOL
I was starting to think “our” Schwartz and Galanos were the bootlegs and the missing week was the time it took to “grow” them. Glad to see it looks like I’m wrong and now I’m back to being puzzled.
I’ve picked up a couple of the Best-Lock sets and they have a great variety of parts for an off-brand. Too bad they have that slick, cheap, “may-shatter-and-pierce-your-eyes” Chinese plastic feel to them. I’m slightly scared to see what the knock-off Galanos and Schwartz will look like!
X-D I literally LOL’d when I saw the Best-Lock ship. Too funny.

I’ve never heard of Best Lock but those ships actually look pretty awesome.
They do look awesome, don’t they? The problem is they disintegrate if you breathe on them.
Hm, those comets(?) in the background look a bit like attacking Frogs (/http://www.dimrost.nl/WordPress/tag/science-fiction/, 1st & 3rd picture) from the sadly short-lived german (& french) TV series „Raumpatrouille Orion“ (“Space Patrol Orion”, our Star Trek).
Now this I have GOT to see.
