“Meteor Madness” was the first storyline I came up with and scripted when developing Lego: Space – The Comic, but I held off on it because it seemed difficult to do as my first few comics. It worked out better that way, I think, for I was able to add elements I created when making the 33 comics that came before it.

I thought it would be hilarious to have Schwartz live in a typical suburban house that just happens to be on a moon (which seemingly has an oxygen atmosphere and Earth-like gravity). In keeping with my desire to have all the sets in the comic be actual models Lego sold (or be based on those sets), I made Schwartz’s house from instructions for the set 6370 Weekend Home that came out in the Town series in 1985. As that set costs mucho $$$$$ these days, I managed to acquire the parts I needed for much, much cheaper. The only major difference is that I had to substitute black bricks wherever the original had blue bricks. And I think the black looks better. So, nyah.

And yes, unlike poor Galanos, Schwartz has hair under the helmet.
