Drag Kings Part 57
This page is a bit of an experiment. I normally write out sound effects like this is the old Adam West Batman TV show. But are they necessary? Do they help explain the action? Do they add more life to a static medium? Or does a page like this one work without them? I’m debating on whether I’ll add sound effects to the next part of this swordfight.

I’d say that you conveyed action and motion pretty well without resorting to sound effect call outs or motion lines, certainly I followed along easily. Of course, those devices are long time comic art staples precisely because they do strengthen action and motion sequences. But if you are looking to succeed without using either, I would say that you have done it.
Thank you, Billy. I’m glad it worked out this time, but I’m leaning toward staying with the usual written sound effects. As you said, it is customary in comic art!
