Schwartz and Galanos are, in my eyes, the center of SPACE: The Comic. Yet, in spite of several short appearances together since the comic returned, they haven’t had a real adventure with each other since “Bootlegs” (before the long, dark hiatus). That storyline is one of my personal favorites, and it finally delved into some potential character growth for the directionless duo. The story that begins today, “Drag Kings,” is kind of a sequel to that story – thematically, at least. It was also inspired by one of my favorite TV shows of the 1980s, and the entire plot erupted spontaneously in my mind during a drive to to work. I’m in awe of the way creativity functions, although it can be a cruel mistress. Sometimes it gives bountifully, and sometimes it shuts me out!

— This is not an official LEGO comic. This is a tribute.
