In 1992, two years after the last set to feature an actual Blacktron minifigure, LEGO snuck one of the uniform torsos into a Classic Town set called “Mag Racer” (#6648). Aside from the lack of air tanks and a red helmet, it looked like Blacktron had invaded the local speedway! I realize it was likely intended to just be a stylish racing uniform, but in my head this counted as an actual Blacktron character. So now it has a backstory. I don’t have the triangular, white flag sticker that is supposed to go on the car’s antenna and decided to just leave it off instead of recreate it.
Of course, I undermined the epic entrance of the infamous Blacktron Racer by neglecting to notice that his legs aren’t fully attached to his torso.
“Do your legs hang low, do they wobble to and fro…?”
