I’m hesitant to admit it, but this comic is very autobiographical!

To quote Andy Bernard on The Office, “I wish there was a way to know you’re in the good old days before you’ve actually left them.”
I was delighted this weekend to learn that I’ve been nominated for not one but two Drunk Duck Awards for 2020! There’s some stiff competition on here and some good friends. No idea how this old comic will fare but I’m thankful to everyone who nominated me! The humor category is an extra special surprise. I definitely put comedy at the forefront when writing SPACE: The Comic (aka Lego Space), but “funny” is extremely subjective and I never know who shares my bent sense of humor. Of course, it’s also an honor to be recognized for working in a non-traditional medium. I recently found a list of LEGO comics (more on that in a future update) and realized I’m one of the oldest still running. Many fine brick comics have come and gone!

Can the Black & Blue Hammer stand up to the love of a good woman? Does getting married ever impede hanging out with your friends??

Wait, what did I write? So, LEGO exists within the universe of LEGO SPACE: THE COMIC? Do the characters see themselves as normal humans or as LEGO minifigures? Should I remind myself it’s just a comic, and I should really just relax?

If anyone is as deeply steeped in LEGO Space lore as I am (IS there another? lol), they might have already suspected this about Sandy.

So, that wraps up our summer-long story, “Date Night II”! Next up, a story that leads perfectly into Halloween!
Sandy Moondust was a very limited edition “astrobot” minifigure available only at the 2002 World Space Congress, and a photograph of her was launched into space aboard Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity! (There was also a Biff Starling figure whose image was placed inside Mars Exploration Rover Spirit.) Sandy has appeared in the comic before, albeit with a different face. Sandy is an expensive minifigure, but I finally managed to procure her for a lower cost by purchasing the parts individually from different stores on Bricklink.
