Toys Were Us Part 3
Peeps. Gotta eat ‘em stale!!
Transformers were truly my childhood drug (more than sugar)! An offer to stop by Toys “R” Us and and pick out a new Robot in Disguise was a pure dopamine rush. I loved the original Transformers cartoon and comics, but the toys were what truly grabbed me. The airbrushed character art, the space battle mural on the back of the box, the extensive character bio and the trans-red plastic strip needed to “decode” it were all marketing genius that sold me and many other kids on these toys. The toys themselves were amazing, too, but it was Hasbro’s investment in the details that created a fictional universe that lasts to this day.
Hooray, the site navigation is back! Thanks so much from all of us archive-bingers.
Small problem: For any episode prior to “Last Knight Part 1”, if I click “next”, the site sends me to “Last Knight Part 1” and the “previous” button is grayed out. I can manually select any episode, but the “previous” and “next” functions are broken for those early episodes. Thought you should know…
Thanks, Oldfan! I was only able to get the buttons restored last night and didn’t know there was a broken section. I’m hoping tech support can help me. They were able to solve the site slowdown problem. It was due to an OLD plugin I forgot about – Project Wonderful.
I’m noticing the arrows skip forward at other parts of the archive, too. 🙁
