Are there TV shows that if you turn on during a marathon or put on streaming, you have trouble turning off if you see even a second of the next episode? Lately I keep making that mistake with Law & Order: SVU. At least I get a lot of comics made while it’s on!

Red DID appear briefly in this storyline, but she apparently does not have the freedom to roam the galaxy like our boys. Hence the stand-in.
This marks a year ago that I (and so many others) went into lockdown as the severity of COVID-19 became clear. Looking back at my journal from that time, it’s both charming and eerie how normal life seemed in the months leading up to it. A weekend at a bed and breakfast celebrating my wife’s birthday and enjoying a night watching a band at a local pub; pleasant chats with my colleagues in the office and amazing vegetarian sandwiches in the cafeteria; shopping without worry at Target and Walmart. Even the events that weren’t so normal, like spending time visiting a relative in the cozy community room at a mental health facility, are a world apart from today. Even though you can now do most of these things at some level, they’re tinged with precaution and procedure that we just didn’t consider in the heyday of 2019 and early 2020.

I’d like to share a comment that a reader, one I didn’t even know I had, left about my comic over on the Eurobricks forum. I’ve been posting a link to each new page of my comic ever since it began in 2008, and it used to have a following there. These days, I rarely get any feedback at Eurobricks and I’m not sure many people even see my thread there but I keep posting updates just for old time’s sake. And I’m glad I do, for I still get an occasional comment like this awesome one from Vaiman. It’s the kind of feedback that really touches me and makes me feel like maybe I’m doing something good with my creative energies (outside of just amusing myself). Vaiman wrote:
“After years of reading the comic (I started in 2012), It’s still a blast every time a new page debuts! I just want to thank you for all the joy the comic has brought throughout the years. It was quite satisfying to finally see the Jenny storyline converge with the main plot!”

A lot of characters in this comic are playing a looooooong game. You’re finally getting to learn more about what Jenny’s all about. The UFO aliens are lurking in the margins. There’s the seldom seen, mysterious Green Lady. The Shakespearian Dragons are out there, somewhere. Someone is influencing Captain Dash. And obviously Coldwell here has a chip on his shoulder and a plan. It’s just a sign that I have a lot plotted out, but take an epoch to knock those dominoes down.

Yes, it appears that a certain mysterious time traveler that has appeared in this comic might have a TV show chronicling their adventures…

This is a small tribute to the Nabisco factory in Fair Lawn, NJ. For 63 years, you could smell the delectable scent of cookies as you traveled past on Route 208. But sadly, that (and about 600 jobs) will all go away when the factory shuts its doors late this summer.
